This week we begin with the renewal of the Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) Grant Program to hire and retain fire fighters, buy modern equipment, and provide training to keep members safe. This funding affects our contract cities and many of our neighboring Departments. 

This is a critical funding source that ensures our communities are protected by properly staffed and appropriately equipped fire departments. Local 1014, through the IAFF and together with our affiliated unions, is committed to ensuring that our members get the funding we need from every level of government to keep our Firefighters and our communities safe.
