IMPORTANT COVID-19 MESSAGE TO LOCAL 1014 MEMBERS

Clarification of Covid Exposure Reporting

Brothers and Sisters,

ALL reporting of exposures to the Covid virus needs to be done SOLELY on the new electronic form that was put out to all sites via email (EA-146). See attached form samples. There is NO need to fill out a 382 via NFIRS. This allows us real-time tracking of members that are exposed to the virus and are potentially positive versus waiting for signatures and sending them battalion mail. Regardless of whether or not you are wearing proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)---FILL OUT AN EXPOSURE REPORT!

The new sent home sick form that is also included in EA-146 is to be filled out by the on-duty Captain for all members that are EITHER sent home sick from morning lineup, during the day OR call in sick. In the event that a member that is working multiple days is sent home sick with signs and/or symptoms, ALL members that have had contact with that member should fill out an electronic Covid exposure report.

If a member is sent home sick his time card should reflect “S” not “ZI”. “ZI” is to be used ONLY when a member has been contacted AND notified by the health programs office that he/she is ordered on a 14-day quarantine. Once a member is ordered to a 14-day quarantine the chain of command is notified also via the health programs office.

All other exposures( i.e. any other communicable disease, blood splash etc.) are to be filed on the normal NFIRS reporting method.

All other injuries are still to be reported on the normal NFIRS reporting method.

If you have any further questions on this item or have issues with your chain of command, contact the Union immediately.

In Solidarity,

President Dave Gillotte and the Local 1014 Executive Board
