Brothers and Sisters,
As we gather with our families to celebrate this Thanksgiving, the Local 1014 Executive Board would like to take a moment to thank all our members for the passion and dedication you bring to the job each and every day as you serve the residents of Los Angeles County.
We work for one of the greatest fire service agencies in the world and that's because of the men and women who make it happen each and every day. The Los Angeles County Fire Department is truly unique in the vast Structural, Air, Wildland, Forestry, Health Haz-Mat, Dispatch, Heavy Equipment and Emergency Medical Services we provide for the largest county in the nation. We are like no other agency in the world and your Local 1014 Executive Board is honored to represent you and fight on behalf of you and your families.
We hope that this holiday weekend, you enjoy your families, the bounty of food at your table, and your many blessings. Remember to give thanks for all we are fortunate to have and remember the hard work it took to get it here. As always, we ask that you celebrate responsibly. Choose not to drink this holiday or limit your drinks, but if you are going to drink alcohol, remember to get a driver, get a cab, or get a room. DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE AND DONT TEXT AND DRIVE!
Finally, holidays are a time of joy and gratitude but they can also be a time of stress and for our members, a time when call loads increase and our jobs become more challenging and more demanding. That is why it is important to remind all our members to take care of each other. If you or one of your fellow brothers and sisters need help, please reach out and get that help. On behalf of the dedicated members of Los Angeles County Firefighters Local 1014, we would like to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and send special thoughts and prayers to those serving in our military abroad and to those serving in our fire stations, dispatch centers and in our communities this holiday.
