As we enter 2011, on this Tuesday January 11th, the first General Membership Meeting for Local 1014, we say good bye to two Labor Giants in the Fire Service Union world and we welcome in two new Union Leaders.   Today is a painful day for the entire Local 1014 Executive Board as we bid farewell to 2nd Vice President John Bishop and Director Paul Rusin.

Attention Retirees, or "soon to be" retired....   LACERA has released thier annual CPI numbers that determine your COLA for the year. The CPI increased .3% in December 2010 for a year-to-date total of 1.3%.  LACERA uses the CPI to determine the annual Cost-of-Living (COLA) benefit.

  As Los Angeles County Fire Fighters, Local 1014 members begin our Fire Ground Survival Training Program, this just in... an example of how the IAFF Fire Ground Survival Training can work to save lives.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO LOCAL 1014 MEMBERS AND THEIR FAMILIES! Local 1014 would like to offer up the 1st resolution of the New Year for our membership and one that we can all know will make a difference in the lives of our families and friends…make a resolution to never drink alcohol, then drive or operate any motor vehicle, plain and simple.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays !!!   As we head into the true end of the year and the Christmas Season is in full swing hopefully most of us are fortunate enough to be enjoying family and friends.

  Los Angeles County Fire Fighters Local 1014 inked contract extension language that turns tentative agreements for protections of our salary and benefits and working conditions into reality.   Local 1014 bargaining unit representatives have been working hard with other Union leaders to get agreement with the County to extend our Fringe Benefit Contract and our Salary Contract.

  Inglewood City Council Approves Fire Station 172 CLOSURE! On Tuesday 11/30/2010 at 2340 hours the Inglewood City Council voted 3-1 to approve an amendment to their contract with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
