We hope you are enjoying your summer so far. Summer is the best time of year to take family vacations and enjoy the outdoors. We want to remind you, as we always do, to remember to not drink and drive.
We are always asked "why do you keep making that statement"? The reason is it keeps happening.
It is very rare that your 1014 Executive Board gets a direct request for assistance from one of our own members. Recently we had a staunch 30-year 1014 member come with his hat in hand to ask for our assistance.
Your board immediately reached into their own pockets to assist with the request. Due to the circumstances and our by-laws we are unable to assist with Local 1014 monies.

On June 9th, 10th and 11th, Local 1014 members will hold our 8th Annual Fill the Boot campaign to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). Since 1954, firefighters have been filling the boot to help provide healthcare and support services for individuals living with a neuromuscular disease.
“We Shall Not Forget” Soldiers and Servants “Remember Responsibly”
Our membership along with all of America will take time this weekend to remember those who have served in the armed services to provide and protect our way of life.
Former Assemblyman Roger Niello's initiative to rollback public pension benefits "will end up in the scrapheap of politically-motivated failures," said Dave Low, chairman of Californians for Retirement Security, in a statement released by the union coalition Tuesday evening.
