Esperanza Firefighter Fund
The California Fire Foundation -- CPF's not-for-profit Memorial foundation -- is accepting donations to benefit the families of the USFS Engine 57 crew. Four USFS firefighters out of the San Jacinto Ranger Station in Idyllwild lost their lives last week in the deadly Esperanza Fire near Palm Springs. A fifth remains in critical condition.
The Foundation -- a 501c3 non-profit corporation created by California Professional Firefighters -- raised more than $2 million to build the California Firefighters Memorial in Sacramento, and helped facilitate California fund raising efforts -- by firefighters, for firefighters -- after 9/11 and Katrina.
All of the donations received -- 100% -- will be directed to the families of fallen firefighters Mark Lautzenhiser, Jess McLean, Jason McKay and Daniel Hoover-Najera, as well as for the family of critically injured firefighter Pablo Cerda.
To make a contribution to help these families, please make checks payable to: California Fire Foundation, with a notation "Esperanza Firefighters Fund". Address contributions to:
