It is with the deepest regret and sadness that we announce the Death of Fire Fighter Specialist Shawn Bayer, Los Angeles County Fire Station 8, "C" platoon, Battalion 1. Fire Fighter Specialist Bayer passed in the late evening of Saturday November 2, 2013 after battling an aggressive form of job related cancer.

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, together with Local 1014 President Dave Gillotte and Fire Chief Daryl Osby pass along our deepest condolences and sympathy to the entire Bayer Family during this incredibly difficult time.

Firefighter Specialist Bayer leaves behind his loving Mother and Brother who have been there by his side supporting him everyday.
