Prescott Arizona Memorial to honor 19 Fallen Firefighters
LA County Fire Rally Point and other information
As we all know tomorrow Tuesday, July 9th is the memorial in Prescott AZ for the Granite Mountain Hotshots. The time for the memorial is 1100 at the Toyota Center 3201 N. Main St. Prescott Valley, AZ 86314. The service is projected to end around 1330.
For all our members and retirees see attached document for our rally point location and other information. Look for the 3 Gold Coast Tours (red and yellow) busses and the LA County Fire Department "easy-up".
As you may have heard there are NO tickets available at this time. If we are able to secure some tickets we will let you know. But do not plan on us sitting inside the arena. The arena holds 6,000 people and at this point the families of the fallen, the Prescott Fire Department and the surrounding departments were given most of the tickets, rightly so. our plan is to meet at the rally point and move to the overflow area as a unit and make sure everyone knows we are there to honor Kevin Woyjeck, support his family and show our support for the families of the other 18 fallen firefighters and the profession we are so proud to be members of.
They are planning anywhere for 20 to 50 thousand people to attend the event. if you are traveling in your own vehicle be prepared for heavy traffic and a lot of people.
The buses will be leaving AZ with some FD vehicles (E23, BC9) at approximately 1500 to return home. You are more than welcome to join us in a caravan if you wish.
Thank you to all our brothers and sisters from this great Union and Department that are traveling many miles to honor Kevin, his family and our department. Travel safe. Be home in time to welcome Kevin home on Wednesday. His memorial will be held on the 16th.
