Safety Member Election
Get Out The Vote!
LACERA Ballots are in the mail, we need our safety members to Get Out The Vote!
Every 3 years we are asked to elect a Safety Member on the LACERA Board of Retirement AND the LACERA Board of Investments. For the last 14 years we have been successful in electing William "Will" Pryor to the boards despite having far less members than other safety groups. Having a fire representative on the board is very important to maintaining our future benefits.
Once again we need to GET OUT THE VOTE!
Active members have managed to remain untouched in the current battles over pensions. This is as a result of maintaining a well run retirement system that steadily earns money and pays its benefits. This is in no small part due to Will Pryor election to the boards of Investments and Retirement and his work at LACERA.
All Safety Members:
You will be getting your ballots (see sample below) from the LA County Registrar Recorder in the next few days. Please fill out your ballot, vote for William Pryor on BOTH BOARDS and return it (no stamp needed!) in the US Mail. It is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT that you VOTE for WILL for both positions on this ballot. Station Captains/Site Supervisors:
For the next 3 "line ups" please go around the table and ask your station brothers a sisters if they have voted. If somebody has not received a ballot by July 1, Local 1014 will be sending out information on getting a duplicate ballot.
Again PLEASE join us in voting for Will Pryor for both the LACERA Board of Retirement and the Board of Investments. We cannot afford to have someone else looking after our retirement security. We need to make sure our collective voice is hear and that Will Pryor continues to serve on BOTH boards. Again you have to vote for Will for BOTH boards.
