1014 City Election Endorsements

Your Local 1014 Executive Board has been hard at work to make sure our members’ voices are heard in the upcoming City elections! 

We sent invitations to all Candidates who are running for either City Council seats or Mayor of their respective Cities to participate in cluster interviews for our endorsement in the April 10, 2012 City Elections.  We interviewed all the candidates that responded in respect to our issues.  The candidates who we felt best represented Firefighter issues received our endorsement and are listed below.   

In these rough economic times, there seems to be an anti-Public Employee sentiment going around. This sentiment is being instigated and perpetuated by our enemies; to help them take away our hard earned and bargained for benefits. Benefits we gained legally through collective bargaining with our employers over the years.  It is imperative that we push back and get candidates elected who support our issues and concerns.  We can not just lay back and let them walk over us. Our membership never has and we never will!

Please consider supporting these candidates if you live in one of the Cities that they represent. They are always looking for campaign volunteers. The fight starts now!

Absentee ballots are being mailed out on Monday March 12, 2012 and you should be receiving them by Friday March 16, 2012.  So if you vote by absentee ballot look for them and vote!
