8th Annual Los Angeles County Firefighters Local 1014 Fill the Boot Raises over $250,000
Brothers and Sisters,
In honor of one of our own, Brian Muir, who recently lost his life to a disease MDA is working to cure, THANK YOU and congratulations for your efforts in raising over $250,000 in our 8th Annual Fill the Boot. Fifty seven years ago, IAFF answered the call to help MDA. It’s firefighters proud tradition and Local 1014 takes it very seriously. Our Union is about strength in numbers, about looking out for the other guy and about strengthening communities. Your participation in the Fill the Boot shows what we stand for and we are very proud of what we’ve accomplished.

Thank you to our Battalion/Shift Coordinators and Off Duty Support. With an event of this size and scope, it’s inevitable that we would run into issues. We appreciate those of you who stepped up to problem solve and make it happen. We couldn’t have done it without you. This was a herculean effort by membership, management, municipalities and our MDA family. Our continued support will allow MDA to fund life saving research, healthcare clinics, support groups and Summer Camp.
Thanks again for making a difference to those living with neuromuscular disease and for participating in this proud tradition. We’ll continue to fight until the cure is found.
