The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors have been at work trying to make changes to LACERA.  Feeling like they don't want to be outdone by the state legislature, or seizing the opportunity to make cuts, the Board Offices and CEO's office are making some dramatic pension proposals that may keep us busy in upcoming negotiations.  

Our position is clear.  The benefits beign offered by LACERA are modest, well funded and far below even the re-negotiated changes made at the state level.  Not only has LACERA provided a consistent and livable benefit to our members but over the years has been an affordable alternative to social security and disablity tax benefits.
