Dear 1014 members:
As we are all aware, long ago Firefighters throughout the nation adopted the Muscular Dystrophy Association as a charitable cause. Across America Firefighters annually conduct fundraising efforts and raise millions of dollars for this most worthwhile organization. It’s a commitment of effort and support that we are proud to give to the MDA and all those who benefit from their work.
This year Local 1014 is also proud to endorse LA County’s and the Fire Department’s support of the March of Dimes, another top-of-the-line charitable organization that helps so many and deserves our support. Early in April the Department sent out ET-157, describing the critical services that the March of Dimes provides to those in need, and letting us know how we can contribute. Local 1014 endorses that request and asks that each of us contribute what we can. Because of the current economy, charitable contributions are down nationwide, so it’s more important than ever that those of us who may be in a position to help do so in some way.

Although the March of Dimes walk has been concluded, this link will still help you with your donation. As little as a $5 contribution will help and be greatly appreciated, so please step up. Donations can be given anytime from now until June 1st, and the attached information tells you ways you can do so, but please don’t wait. The March of Dimes does great work, and they deserve our support.
