FIRST ANNUAL RETIREE BBQ AND RECOGNITION EVENT
On Tuesday family, friends, and colleagues gathered together for the LACoFD Inaugural Retirement Celebration to acknowledge our retirees.
This ceremony was an opportunity for us to properly thank our retirees for their service and dedication to not only our Department, but also the County and the residents and communities they served during their tenure.
To our retirees, while you may have retired from the job, you never leave this ‘fire family’ – and we hope to always be a part of your lives. We wish all of our retirees a long, happy, and healthy retirement and the very best in this next chapter of life.
This was also a well-deserved celebration for our families that endured their family members being “MIA” on holidays, birthdays, kids’ games, summer trips, school meetings, special dinner dates that got cancelled, funerals of loved ones that they missed, and the list goes on and on. We can never say enough about those we saw walk that line for the last time. From your Union brothers, we are grateful and thank all of you, as it has been an incredible honor to work beside the best of the best.
We have several upcoming opportunities to celebrate our retirement warriors. Please spread the word and see the information in the link below for Dave Norman's retirement and the Battalion 15 Vegas trip. We also have the Annual Retirement Event at the Fire Museum coming up on July 18th. This is for all Retirees, with special recognition for our most recent Retirees.
The Museum and other stakeholder groups such as PEER Support, Chaplains, Benefit and Welfare, came together to work with the Department and Local 1014 to launch this event.
Thanks to all who worked so hard to make this happen! |
