Fire Fighter Specialist Shawn Bayer, Fire Station 8 "C" Platoon, Battalion 1, son of the late LA County Fire Captain Kenneth Edward Bayer, Fire Station 65, Battalion 5, and cousin of LA County Fire Fighter Specialist Dean Bayer, Fire Station 136 "C", Battalion 17, passed away due to job related cancer on Saturday, November 2, 2013, at the age of 38. Fire Fighter Specialist Bayer was a dedicated and respected member of Local 1014 who faithfully served the Department for 12 years, and will be missed by all.
