Uniform Allowance Information

The $1,000 uniform allowance checks for safety members were issued in December.  Separate from that, for any member who has experienced damaged clothing or other personal property loss during the performance of proper duties when such damage was caused by unexpected events on the job that were beyond the control of the employee, please read Volume 2, Chapter 10, Subject 3.  The County does provide for reimbursement to an employee to replace or repair clothing damaged under the described circumstances, but the correct procedures for reimbursement must be followed.

This is a new uniform program for the Department and 1014, and as we go along we may experience some policy and procedural issues that need to be clarified or adjusted.  The Department recently issued EP-577 and previous notices before that describing uniform and vendor availabiilty, and please keep watching for additinal information on those issues.  In the meantime, carefully read the policy and procedures in Volume 2, Chapter 10, Subject 3, and call us if you have any further questions.
