BOARD OF SUPERVISORS APPROVE CONTRACT

On Tuesday May 17th, the Board of Supervisors approved our successor memorandum of understanding with a 5-0 vote.

Local 1014 has notified the County that we would like to expedite the process of getting the signing bonus checks out to our membership. We are working closely with the County to get that done, and we will notify you as soon as we have the date set.

We also met with the County officials and formed a contract implementation team to expedite and handle all aspects of making our members whole and recalculating for the members who retired this year and were denied benefit day cash out.

Additional information will be forthcoming, and we will be educating the membership on how to properly maximize the benefits under the new contract.

Next month we begin getting ready for the 2006 salary re-opener so we can open on time and take timely steps to compel the County to close on time.
