On May 5th the 1014 membership voted by 92.8% to accept the proposed 1014/County contract proposal. Since that date 1014 and the County have been reviewing line by line the final language for the entire new MOU. We found a few language changes that needed to be made, and County is making those changes. We should be signing off on the full new MOU today or tomorrow.
After we sign, the Board of Supervisors must then also sign, which will likely be on May 17th. Also on the 17th we are scheduled to meet with County, payroll and LACERA to get the logistics lined up to retroactively and prospectively take care of all the negotiated payroll and retirement issues.
Next week we will update the membership regarding when we will see our raises and all the other contract-related issues, including those discussed in the entry below.
