New Health Benefits from The Local 1014 Health Plan in 2026
Updated On: Jan 04, 2026

Brothers and Sisters,
As we ring in the New Year, we’re proud to share that January 2026 brings new benefits for Local 1014 members and their families enrolled in the Local 1014 Health Plan. These enhancements are made possible by the Local 1014 Union Board and the Local 1014 Health Trust, which remain committed to innovation and expanding benefits that strengthen and support our union families today and in the year ahead.

We want to provide additional information on these newly negotiated benefits, made possible through the collective efforts of your Union, Health Trust Board, dedicated staff, and professional advisors.

NEW $900 Annual Wellness Benefit per Family

Starting January 2026, eligible members enrolled in the Local 1014 Health Plan will also receive a $900 Wellness Benefit to support your health and overall well-being through approved wellness-related expenses.

Beginning January, Local 1014 Health Plan can receive up to $900 per year in reimbursement for eligible wellness expenses. No expenses incurred prior to January 1, 2026—and no receipts submitted prior to that date—will be eligible for reimbursement. This benefit is attached to the member and may be used for eligible expenses incurred by the member, their covered spouse, and eligible dependents.

For more information on the Wellness Benefit, please visit the Local 1014 Medical website page dedicated to this benefit, where additional details and guidelines will be posted.

Supporting Our Families Longer: Expanded Dependent
Coverage Age 27-35 Begins 2026

Beginning in 2026, eligible dependents ages 27 through 35 who are not married may remain on the Local 1014 Health Plan. If your dependent is approaching age 27, they may receive a COBRA continuation notice. If you receive this letter, please follow these steps:
  • Elect dental-only COBRA coverage for Delta Dental (90 days at the $40/month rate)
  • Decline COBRA medical coverage for Local 1014 Health Plan
  • Contact Local 1014 and speak with Misty Lopez, Administrative Analyst – Membership Department, to draft an agreement to continue your dependent’s medical coverage
Premium & Payment Information
  • Members are responsible for paying the difference between the current dependent premium and the Covered California benchmark rate
  • Premiums must be paid directly by the member (not through the County)
  • At this time, premiums are not tax-deferred; however, the Health Trust is exploring future options such as HSA-related credits
Previously Removed Dependents
If your dependent was previously removed from the plan and you would like them considered for reinstatement, please contact Local 1014. Requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

If you have questions or need assistance, please contact the Local 1014 office.
We also want to remind members of the new benefits introduced in 2025 that will continue into 2026, and we encourage everyone to take full advantage of them—including our valuable partnership with Maven Clinic, which provides expanded access to personalized health and family care support.
