Local 1014 and the County signed a tentative contract agreement on April 19^th, 2005, and the contract ballots are in the mail for membership voting.

At this time Local 1014 is lifting the “work-to-the-rule” policy, and the entire Executive Board wishes to convey our thanks and admiration for the united front displayed by so many union members in support of our goals.  Your efforts did not go in vain, and Department management AND the Board of Supervisors have been put on notice that our membership will not stand idly by in face of adversity.  This work-to-the-rule was carried out with your customary dedication and service to the public, once again illustrating that Local 1014 members are second to none in the Fire Service as a whole.

Although Local 1014 is declaring an end to the “work-to-rule,” we will be meeting with management in the very near future to address our concerns that as a paid professional fire department, our members should ALWAYS be paid for any and all department-related functions and classes.
