General election information - updated 10.29
Updated On: Oct 302, 2006
November 7th is a critical election for firefighters and working people in the State of California. The important thing we can do is vote. Below we have listed some things that you can do to help get people who support firefighter issues get elected.

  1. VOLUNTEER:
    1. Phone banking
                                                              i.      We are phone banking from 1014 every day, 7 days a week as well as in Pomona for the City Council races in that City.
ii.      Host a phone bank event - we will bring the phones and calling list to you and your friends just as we did last year.
iii.      Call 1014 (310-639-1014) for a phone bank location near your home. There are plenty that would love to have firefighters spend a few hours.
    1. Precinct walk
                                                              i.      We are walking every day, all day long out of 1014, come join us (3460 Fletcher Ave., El Monte).  We are also walking in Pomona (contact Paul Russin 909-896-9910).
ii.      Call 1014 for a location near your home where labor unions are joining together to walk. This is happening all over California with Teachers, Nurses, Firefighters and all other working people.
    1. Talk to your friends and neighbors

                                                              i.      Talk to 10 people you know about how important this election is for you and your families future.

ii.      Send an email to everyone you know who lives and votes in California. Remind them what happened less than one year ago and what will happen to you and your family if things continue the way they are.
  1. Get election materials from 1014:
    1. We have yard signs, bumper stickers, lapel stickers, handouts and t-shirts related to the election that need to get out. We even have the big 4’ X 8’ signs like we had a year ago when we were being attacked.
  2. Attend events:
    1. In the next few days there will be events in Southern California that firefighters need to attend. We are sure you have seen some of the events in your local media. The message that firefighters stand with their friends is loud and clear and we need to make sure it continues up to and after November 7th.
Check back here often in the next few days as we will be adding to this page with more details.
NOW is the time to get involved to protect your future!
